Anna Portnoy, DVMDr. Portnoy is Chief of Staff at Riverside Animal Hospital. She earned her undergraduate degree from UMass Boston in 1985 and her DVM degree from UPEI Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada in 2007. A Massachusetts native, Dr. Portnoy grew up in Newton and now lives in Swansea. She worked in several mixed practice clinics in New Hampshire and Maine, then in Fall River, prior to coming to RAH in 2012.

Dr. Portnoy's special interests include small animal and ruminant medicine and surgery. She began her study at the Chi Institute of Traditional Veterinary Chinese Medicine (TCVM) in 2015 and is now certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Portnoy enjoys golf, playing music, and theatre. She has a small farm and enjoys spending time with her animals (dogs, donkeys, sheep and goats). She is also an avid Red Sox fan.

dr-siobhan-wright-dvm-tortoiseDr. Wright joined the Riverside Animal Hospital team in June 2016. She received an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, and a DVM degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.

Dr. Wright has spent many years in the veterinary world, even before she earned her veterinary degree. She's spent time working as an emergency surgical technician at Foster Hospital for Small Animals, a large animal technician at Tufts Hospital for Large Animals, and as a veterinary assistant and client liaison at Dedham Veterinary Associates and Boston Veterinary Specialists.

Her special interests include dentistry, acupuncture and feline health. In addition, Dr. Wright can treat some exotic pets, such as non-poisonous reptiles, chameleons, lizards, and turtles. We are thrilled to be able to see more patients thanks to her skills and expertise!

In her spare time, Dr. Wright enjoys hiking, kayaking, running, cross-country skiing and reading. She has a cat, three tortoises, and one snake at home.
